*Text taken from Wausau newspaper dated April 30, 1997: Diane June Geurink, 55, of Gleason, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, at her home under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born on June 25, 1941, in Wausau, daughter of Velma (Doty) Woznicki and the late Edward Woznicki. She married Ronald D. Geurink on Feb. 11, 1961, in Milwaukee. He survives.

Diane was a homemaker and assisted with running her husband’s trucking company. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church for many years. She loved country music, loved to dance, enjoyed working outside in her vegetable and flower gardens and mowing the lawn. She took great pleasure in spending time with and spoiling her precious grandchildren. She also loved to travel and go to music concerts. She also developed a love for Chinese Checkers and loved to play cards.

Survivors besides her husband Ronald and her mother, Velma, include one son, Michael (Jean) Geurink, Gleason; three daughters, Laurie Raasch, Gleason, Linda (Russell) Peterson, Merrill, and Jennifer (Shannon) Ovaska, Wausau; 10 grandchildren, Christina, Jason, Jeff, Tim, Matt, Becky, Jim, Melissa, Michelle and Mikala; six brothers, Lee Woznicki, Oak Creek, Gary (Patty) Woznicki, Arlington, Texas, Alan (Patty) Woznicki, Schofield, Thomas Woznicki, Schofield, Daniel (Linda) Woznicki, Mukwonago, and Donald (Cathy) Woznicki, Rothschild; and three sisters, Karen (Roger) Breske, Eland, Susan (Lee) Klingbile, Rothschild, and Carol (Wendell) Silvius, Hatley. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Woznicki; and one brother, Cligord Woznicki.

Funeral Services will be at l0:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 1997, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason. The Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery, town of Easton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.

• At 26 years of age Ronald became the father of Laurie Geurink Wausay WI, July 13, 1963.
• At 27 years of age Ronald became the father of Linda Geurink Wausau, WI, October 27, 1964.
• At 34 years of age Ronald became the father of Jennifer Geurink in Merrill, WI, January 21, 1972.

He married Patricia Ann Walker in Merrill, WI, June 5,1998. Patricia was born in Milwaukee, WI, November 25, 1954.
