*Exchange Vows In Church Ceremony - Taken from local newspaper: A song, “Prayer at Wedding,” written by the bride’s mother, was sung at the wedding of Miss Pauline Gemink daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Geurink, town of Easton, and Leonard W. Meyer, Schofield which was solemnized Thanksgiving Day afternoon at St. Stephen’s Lutheran church. Lester Wachholz the soloist, also sang “0 Promise Me,” accompanied at the organ by Alfred Giese.

Vows were exchanged before the Rev. Etvin Se&l as the couple stood before the altar, which was decorated with bouquets of chrysanthemums and white tapers.

MY Little Girl
by Wilhelmina Geurink

My little girl, I love you.
My little girl, I care.
May heaven smile above you,
This my daily prayer.
May all your life be sunshine.
May all your dreams come true
May joy and laughter, follow after,
Whenever you are blue.
For you were meant for gladness
And not for sighs or tears.
May wedding bells be happy bells,
And yours a home where true love dwells...
And yours a home where true love dwells
Throughout the coming years.

You Luckv Girl!
by Wilhehnina Geurink

Now that the doc with great precision
Has given you his pet incision
Examined every inward part
And left you "nothing but the heart!"
Then sewed you up with fancy stitching
Which soon will cause a lot of itching
(until he takes the stitches out
And leaves that scar to talk about)
You’ll have great cause for celebration
Since you’ve come thru your operation!
When other people talk of weather
Or, “if the nations will get together”
Or, speak of prices which are too high
And hope the “ceilings” won’t reach the sky
You won’t need such subjects for conversation
You’ll merely tell of your operation.
And, like a veteran back from the war
You’ll proudly offer to “show your scar! ”

Where’s Jimmy?
Poem written by maternal grandparent, Wilhelmina Geurink, after the death of James.

He is not lost to us He whom we held so close, so dear. Here, in this lonely, empty house My listening heart can hear, at times His eager, carefree little feet Go hurrying as before As if he ran again to hide himself Behind some halfclosed door And, chuckling, waits to hear us calling: “Where is Jimmy, Jimmy boy?” He plays the old familiar game Which gave him so much joy. He counts on us to find him, Catch and hug him close...and then.. Oh God, what we would give To hold and kiss him once again. He is not lost to us, he cannot be But, laughing, runs just out of reach Without a backward glance to see So sure he is we'll seek and find him there some blissful day As long as life and love shall last, He won’t be far away. - - - Where’s Jimmy?” Lift your tear filled eyes, Search for the tiniest, twinkliest star. He hides somewhere behind it now But left the gate ajar. Signed: W.G. Nov. 5, 1949 *Submitted by Leonard Meyer
